A Cobalt Engineer’s daily responsibilities often include overseeing extraction or refining processes, monitoring equipment and system performance, conducting safety and quality checks, and analyzing material samples for purity and compliance. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, such as process engineers, lab technicians, and safety officers, to improve production efficiency and meet environmental standards. Additionally, problem-solving unexpected technical issues and implementing process optimizations are common aspects of the role. This dynamic environment offers opportunities to apply both technical expertise and teamwork to advance key projects in the cobalt supply chain.
To succeed in Cobalt Engineering, you need a strong background in chemical or materials engineering, with a focus on metallurgy, extractive processes, or battery technology, typically supported by a relevant engineering degree. Familiarity with process simulation software, laboratory analysis tools, and safety certification in handling hazardous materials is highly valued. Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and attention to detail distinguish top performers in this specialty. These skills are crucial for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective cobalt production, particularly in high-stakes industries like renewable energy and electronics.
A Cobalt Engineering job typically involves working with materials and processes related to cobalt, often in industries like battery production, aerospace, or metallurgy. Engineers in this field focus on alloy development, material testing, and optimizing cobalt use in manufacturing. They may also work on sustainability efforts, such as recycling cobalt from used products. The role requires knowledge of metallurgy, chemistry, and engineering principles to improve product performance and efficiency.

You will deliver high-quality, certified welding work to support aerospace production and engineering teams. You will operate and troubleshoot manual and orbital GTAW systems, follow weld procedures, and help train and guide less-experienced welders. This role is onsite on 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with a short period of training on 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM).
