Role: Coating Manager

About Role
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, provide leadership and manage the daily manufacturing operations of the Coating Division to achieve the established goals for the monthly output, quality, and efficiency, on time delivery, customer support, and continuous improvement of processes, budget and profitability.
Principal Responsibilities

·         Plan and schedule production activities to ensure efficient workflow, productivity, and timely completion of orders.

·         Coordinate with production teams, vendors, and management to resolve issues and prevent manufacturing delays.

·         Prepare and maintain accurate daily production reports, tracking order status, performance, and operational activities.

·         Monitor employee productivity, reduce waste, minimize downtime, and improve overall manufacturing efficiency.

·         Develop and implement corrective actions using problem-solving methods such as the 5 Why analysis to reduce scrap and improve quality.

·         Maintain safety, cleanliness, quality standards, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

·         Manage employee training, performance evaluations, workforce development, and employee relations.

·         Monitor inventory, supplies, consumables, and equipment needs to support production requirements.

·         Coordinate preventive maintenance activities, equipment improvements, and troubleshooting of machine-related issues.

·         Collaborate with Germany operations and remote plants to standardize procedures, provide technical support, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

·         Strong experience in manufacturing operations, production management, or coating processes (PVD/CVD coating experience is highly desirable).

·         Proven experience managing production teams, supervisors, and operators in a manufacturing environment.

·         Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, workflow optimization, and capacity management.

·         Experience with quality control processes, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies (5 Why, root cause analysis, lean manufacturing).

·         Ability to analyze production data, monitor KPIs, and implement strategies to improve productivity and reduce scrap.

·         Experience with preventive maintenance planning, equipment troubleshooting, and capital improvement projects.

·         Strong leadership skills with experience in employee training, performance management, and team development.
