Job description

What will you do:

System Controller / Dispatcher serves as the central point of contact and monitoring for all underground and surface mining activities.

  • Load Trucks with quality blended coal per specifications.
  • Monitor and record tracking and communication system for U/G operations.
  • Directed and answered incoming phone calls to GCC Energy, intercompany communication from U/G to surface.ย  2 outside lines, pager phone, active mine phone, and surface radio
  • Monitor and report conspec underground mining system.ย  Log and report any issues in the system.
  • Direct and integrate with surface operations on flow of coal throughout surface operations (feeders, belts, screen tower).ย  Blends coal and gives directions to surface operations on coal quality.
  • Send out daily truck reports, OEE reports, Pre-Ops reports, truck by truck information, coal quality comparisons, MSDS etc.
  • Enter in SAP notification, Pre-Ops, etc.
  • Utilize and operate ash analyzers read outs, direct surface operations on coal loading and stockpiling, and read/interpreted ash % to blend coal to specification (3 Ash Analyzers, flow sheets, and stockpile management).
  • Controls Surface Medical response kits, 911 coordinator, and emergency response.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & abilities you will need:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Associateโ€™s degree or 2-3 years related experience is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite including - Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Prior experience preferred but not required.
  • Reliable attendance is critical for this role.
  • Strong documented work history and reliable means of transportation are necessary.
  • You must live within sixty miles of Hesperus Co. or be willing to relocate.ย 

16-Hour MSHA Surface Certification Required

Candidates must complete a 16-hour MSHA certification course to be eligible to work on a federal mine site. If selected, training is provided by the staffing company through whom you will be initially hired.

Position Details:

  • Starting Pay: $22/hour through staffing agency
  • Path to GCC employee: After a successful probationary period, which can run three to six months depending on performance and allowable headcount candidates are eligible to transition to direct employment with GCC.
  • Direct Hire Pay: $25.96/hour plus monthly bonus, full benefits, and paid time off.
  • Once trained available schedule is Sun โ€“ Thurs 4pm to midnight.ย  Initial training would take place over a variety of schedules.
