Job Description

Registered Nurse Ambulatory Anti-Coagulation Clinic - West Bloomfield

Contingent - Monday - Friday, 8 hour days between 7:30am - 4pm.  The ideal candidate would have flexibility with regard to availability during the week.

Candidate Preferences:  Must have at least 5 years of experience in either ambulatory or acute nursing care involving critical thinking skills in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Intensive Care, Hematology/Oncology or Homecare.  Nurses in this department make patient care decisions under the delegated authority of providers who have enrolled their patients for anticoagulation therapy management.  Previous experience in anticoagulation therapy management.  This service cares for patients during normal outpatient clinic hours on Monday through Friday and is closed weekends and holidays.  

GENERAL SUMMARY:

  • Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
  • Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
  • Effectively communicates with the health care team.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence.
  • May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principle investigator. 
Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; bachelor degree preferred.
  • Successful completion of HFMG Pharmacology test.
  • Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard, i.e., Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
  • Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel. Preferred experience in the specialty.
  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills. 

Minimum of 5 years RN experience.  

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current BLS or ACLS per HFHS policy.
