Job description

Dakota Wesleyan University, a NAIA institution, is seeking a Graduate Assistant Womenโ€™s Soccer Coach. This person will be responsible for assisting the head coach in areas of recruitment, planning and participating in practices, game management and program administration. Stipend and tuition remission towards a graduate degree is available.

Successful candidates should display integrity, have a passion for player development and a demonstrated commitment to the DWU mission and values of learning, leadership, faith, and service. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree and a strong background in the sport of soccer.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a mentor and resource for student-athletes, providing guidance on academic, athletic, and personal development.
  • Oversee student-athlete activities during practices, competitions, and events, ensuring adherence to team policies and procedures.
  • Assist in supervising undergraduate student workers, interns, or team managers as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist the head coach with all aspects of the sport program
  • Coordinate and assist with practice planning, game-day operations, and team events.
  • Monitor student-athletes' academic progress.
  • Aid in recruiting efforts, including communication with prospective student-athletes, scheduling campus visits, and maintaining recruiting databases.
  • Assist with community service and fundraising.
  • Manage sport-specific responsibilities, such as maintaining equipment, inventory, and storage, and/or coordinating video operations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with athletes, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the sport(s) and/or collegiate athletics operations.
