Pay Information

Pay Range: $17.75 per hour + 2 for night shift differential

Paid Bi-Weekly

Shift Information

12 hour nights 6pm-6:30am 2/2/3

3rd shift: 10pm - 6am

2nd shift: 2pm-10pm

The role

This position performs the routine duties of handling, packing, and casing products. The position will also regularly assist in line sanitation and production floor clean-up functions. The position is usually seasonal in nature. Therefore, in the event of either a temporary layoff or a reduction in the workforce, handpacking reductions will occur first within this group of employees. They will be required to champion specific skills and coach others.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Performing all job functions in the safest manner possible.
  • Performing all assigned steps in the production and packaging of product, including observing quality of product and notifying appropriate personnel of potential quality problems.
  • Ensuring compliance with all sanitary procedures and policies.
  • Observing and correcting product position to ensure safe and undamaged mechanical processing and/or wrappingpacking finished product per count, assortment, and arrangement specifications.
  • Casing product cartons.
  • Keeping work area clean and free from obstructions, debris, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned

We're looking for someone who

  • Ability to learn all functions of assigned production lines in a quick fashion, as dictated by the production rate of the specific line.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Previous experience in a production environment and/or food production or handling is preferred.
  • Ability to work various hours and shifts (i.e., 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts) as needed.
  • Able to work overtime when required.

Working environment

  • Variable, consisting of the office environment, the mix room, and the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery, chemical exposure, or heavy lifting. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary footwear.
  • In addition, there will be exposure to allergens such as dairy, eggs, tree nuts, coconut, peanuts, wheat (gluten), soybean and cinnamon. There will also be exposure to chemicals and gasses such as ammonia.
