Job Description:
At Chewy Vet Care, we're changing the veterinary care experience from the ground up! Chewy Vet Care is seeking Relief Veterinarians to complete and support staffing/coverage needs at our hospitals. The ideal candidate must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and have a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude. Excellent client communication and high-quality medicine is required.
What Will You Do?
  • Engage with the care team to deliver an unparalleled client experience.
  • Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes.
  • Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
  • Educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
  • Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up to date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.

What Will You Need?
  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD) or equivalent is required
  • Active State license in good standing, DEA license and other state credentials as required
  • PLIT Insurance
  • 2 + years' experience in general medicine and surgery
  • The ability to multi-task with a high degree of integrity and accountability.
  • Have exemplary listening and problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Is comfortable collaborating with other veterinary professionals, utilizing a team-oriented environment.
  • Is passionate about helping people and pets with empathy and excellent customer service focus.
  • Computer skills - Comfortably and confidently uses a computer and PIMS software
  • A genuine passion for providing care that aligns with the team's values and mission.

What Are Physical Requirements?
  • Standing or walking up to 80% per shift.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently lift up to 70 pounds using an optional team lift.
  • Rarely lift greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.
  • Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.
