Job description

Content & Social Media Specialist, Co-op

Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Department: Marketing
Employment Type: Co-op / Internship
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and co-op term

About Proax Technologies

Proax Technologies is a Canadian distributor of industrial automation products and solutions. We work with leading manufacturers and help customers across Canada solve automation, motion control, robotics, machine safety, networking, and related engineering challenges.

If you are curious, creative, comfortable with technology, and want a co-op where you can actually make things that get published, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

Proax Technologies is looking for a creative, curious, and hands-on Content & Social Media Specialist Co-op Student to join our Marketing team.

This is not a role where you will spend your term scheduling generic social posts. You will work directly with our product specialists, engineers, sales teams, and marketers to create useful content for customers in industrial automation.

You will help plan, film, edit, write, and publish content across YouTube, social media, blogs, landing pages, and internal training materials. You will also get hands-on experience using AI tools as part of a modern content workflow.

Because the role is based on-site in Mississauga, you will have access to our products, warehouse, technical experts, and real application examples. You will have plenty of opportunities to learn how technical products work and turn that knowledge into clear, engaging content.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, film, edit, and publish YouTube and social video content
  • Create product overviews, application examples, selection guides, and manufacturer spotlights
  • Interview internal subject matter experts and turn their knowledge into useful content
  • Write blog articles, video scripts, social copy, and campaign content
  • Create short internal training videos
  • Support landing pages and ad creative for product launches and campaigns
  • Use AI tools for research, drafting, editing support, and content repurposing

What We're Looking For

  • Strong video production and editing skills using tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, or After Effects
  • Clear written communication and strong storytelling skills
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or HeyGen
  • Curious and comfortable interviewing technical experts
  • Good understanding of social media and digital content
  • Self-starter who can manage projects and take initiative

Nice to Have

  • Interest in industrial automation, engineering, or technology
  • Photography or motion graphics experience
  • On-camera comfort
  • French language skills

You do not need to be an automation expert. We're looking for someone who is curious, creative, comfortable with technology, and excited to learn.

What You'll Gain

Hands-on experience in video production, social media, technical content, AI-assisted marketing, YouTube, and digital campaigns, plus real published work for your portfolio.
