Your Impact at LILA

Lila is actively seeking talented and motivated students to join us in ushering in a new era of scientific intelligence. Throughout your co-op, you'll have the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with diverse engineering teams spanning multiple disciplines, gaining hands-on experience testing and validating cutting-edge tooling while making meaningful contributions across a variety of projects.

What You'll Be Building

  • Work with cross-functional engineering teams to design, develop, and implement software and hardware tools that enable SSI (Scientific Super Intelligence) and advance scientific discovery through intelligent automation.
  • Onboard laboratory equipment onto our AISF platform by installing custom software, testing equipment processes, and ensuring seamless operation within our automated infrastructure.
  • Document learnings, observations, and contributions for internal teams to review and iterate on, helping improve our processes and methodologies.
  • Participate in additional engineering initiatives and special projects, contributing your skills to support the Next Gen Engineering team's goals.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in a STEM field (e.g., Bioengineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Science).
  • Proficiency or strong interest in software development and programming.
  • Experience with hands-on projects or prototyping that demonstrates technical curiosity.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments.
