The Opportunity - Build the Future With Us

WSP is seeking a Project Engineering Student for Fall 2026 to join our Applied Solutions team in Southwestern Ontario. This role provides handson experience across multidisciplinary infrastructure and constructionfocused engineering projects, supporting both office and field assignments.

As a student team member, you will gain exposure to site decommissioning and demolition, environmental engineering, heavy civil construction, field design support, construction activities and contract administration, and technical review tasks, contributing to real projects while learning from senior engineers and project managers.


Your Impact

 As a Project Engineering Student, you will:

  • Support engineering design tasks, including basic analysis, drawings, markups, and technical deliverables under guidance.
  • Assist with site visits, construction phase reviews, and preparation of field notes.
  • Support utility coordination tasks such as background data gathering and preparing conflict summaries.
  • Contribute to document reviews for completeness, constructability, and compliance with project standards.
  • Assist in preparing daily technical reports, weekly technical reports, field direction memos, calculations, and project documentation.
  • Help prepare quantity summaries, cost estimates, and tenderrelated materials.
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings, taking notes and supporting followups.
  • Maintain strong communication with project teams while supporting a culture of safety and quality.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Environmental/Civil Engineering Technology, or related program. 
  • Strong interest in infrastructure, utilities, construction, and multidisciplinary project delivery.
  • Clear communication, organization, and technical writing skills.
  • Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Bluebeam, or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced project environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation to travel to job sites (as required). 

Assets:

  • Exposure through coursework or prior coop experience to municipal infrastructure, building sciences, or transportation projects. 
  • Knowledge of Ontario standards (OPS, municipal guidelines).
  • Interest in fieldwork, inspections, technical reporting, or contractor coordination.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand basic construction concepts.

Compensation

BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $24.00 - $32.25 per hour
MB & ON: $22.50 - $30.25 per hour
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $21.50 - $30.25 per hour
