Summary of Role:

As a Tapeout and Mask Operations Engineer with a data focus, you will partner with a global team of engineers, product owners, and data architects to drive next-generation tapeout workflows and data platforms as part of a greenfield business transformation project.

This role combines tapeout domain expertise with data engineering, cloud architecture, and analytics, enabling scalable, high-quality, and automated tapeout operations in a modern cloud environment.

  • Hands-on ownership of tapeout data ecosystems
    • Work across configuration, execution, and analytics data domains to define, model, and enable scalable data solutions supporting end-to-end tapeout workflows
    • Partner with Product Lines, Manufacturing Fabs, EDA teams, and IT to ensure data integrity, traceability, and governance across the tapeout lifecycle
  • Building cloud-native data and automation capabilities
    • Contribute to the development of data pipelines, validation frameworks, and automation supporting tapeout execution in AWS-based environments
    • Develop tools and dashboards to analyze tapeout KPIs, execution data, and system performance, driving data-informed decision-making
  • Driving transformation of legacy to modern tapeout systems
    • Play a key role in data migration, mapping, and reconciliation efforts from legacy systems into modern cloud platforms
    • Help implement best practices in data modeling, validation, and cross-system integration to improve quality and reduce manual effort
  • End-to-end visibility into the customer tapeout lifecycle
    • Gain exposure to complex, real-world semiconductor challenges across design, data exchange, execution, and mask manufacturing
    • Build a strong systems-level understanding of how data flows across the full tapeout process


Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Enable scalable, Electronic Design Automation (EDA) functions in a Cloud environment
  • Continuously learn and explore new technologies and trends in tapeout interactive tool/app development, including AI/ML technologies and AWS services
  • Create data visualizations, tools to view EDA tool outputs to bring process improvements and documentation
  • Data analytics on Tapeout processing key performance indicators (KPIs), to drive optimized performance of Cloud Tapeout execution
  • Support customer Tapeouts, Mask manufacturing enablement, Fab Wafer start enablement


Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs


Required Qualifications:

  • Education - Graduating with bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering, data science or related field from an accredited degree program.
  • Must have at least an overall 3.5 GPA and proven good academic standing.
  • Architecting and developing process improvement automations and KPI metrics using Python, Angular, Quicksight, and PowerApps in various cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases to process tapeout / EDA data.
  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
  • Knowledge of developing business process improvement tools in cloud utilizing out of box services.
  • Knowledge of project life cycle, exposure to project managements tools like ADO, JIRA and integration pipeline tools like Bamboo, GIT, Jenkins etc..


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience.
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
  • Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, planning & organizational skills
  • Must be proactive, with a desire to continuously improve system solutions, process documentation, and operating procedures.
  • Knowledge/working with Semi-conductor domain (Foundry) is a plus.

$58,400.00 - $100,800.00
