Job Description

We are currently seeking a Plant Engineering Co-op student to join our team at our IKO Brampton production facility in Brampton, ON.


This Co-op position will work closely together with the Plant Engineer and the whole team.
Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Plant Engineer in completing all aspects of various plant tasks and improvement projects.
  • Interaction with vendors in getting quotations and sourcing services and parts. This would include co-ordination of on-site vendor visits and review of work scope.
  • Oversight of project execution.
  • Mechanical design of simple solutions to problems with opportunity for more advanced design work. 3D Cad using Inventor and 2D with AutoCad.
  • Involved in general administration tasks such as organizing documents, files and issuing purchase requisitions.
  • Promotion of a safe culture through example and Hazard identification and safety audit activities.
  • Other duties asrequired to support new and ongoing projects as part of the plant engineering team.

Qualifications:

  • 1st -> 4th yearMechanical Engineering student or 2nd/3rd year Mechanical Engineering Technology student.
  • Good communications skills and comfort with communicating with vendors and plant personnel.
  • Mechanical design capability with AutoCad software
  • Eagerness to learn the full details of all aspects related to the area you are working in. A curious mind.

Wage:

  • $23.50/hour - $26.50/hour
