Job description

California Northstate University College of Dental Medicine (CNU CDM) is seeking highly motivated full-time and part-time Endodontic faculty to join our vibrant dental education community. This position will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of dentistry by providing didactic and clinical training to pre-doctoral students enrolled in our Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program. Job Description

Position: Assistant/Associate/Professor - Endodontist Faculty, Exempt, Monday-Friday (part-time or full-time)
Location: Sacramento, CA (in-person)
Salary: $150,000-$180,000, determined by level of experience
Supervisor: Associate Dean of Academic Affairs

Responsibilities
  • Deliver didactic and lab instruction and facilitate small group learning.
  • Provide clinical supervision for endodontic procedures and mentorship for pre-doctoral students in the DMD program.
  • Contribute to ongoing development and enhancement of the DMD curriculum.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in clinical practice and dental research.
  • Engage in service to CNU CDM through active committee membership, student advisement, community service, and initiatives that uphold the mission and advance the development of the College and University.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or equivalent.
  • Candidates with overseas licenses must also have completed DDS/DMD or specialty training in a CODA accredited U.S. dental school.
  • Active California Dental License or ability to obtain California Dental License within 6 months of date of hire.
  • Endodontic Residency Completion Certificate from a CODA accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility for board certification.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentorship.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success.
  • Clinical experience in a broad scope of endodontic practice and confidence in supervising pre-doctoral student treatment in the clinic.
Essential Functions / Physical Demands

Applicant should be able to perform tasks associated with practicing or teaching general dentistry or their recognized specialty, including exhibiting motor functions for hand instrumentation and use of high- and low-speed handpieces for operative, restorative, and surgical procedures. Accommodation can be arranged if there is a limitation in performing certain functions.

Workplace Conditions

Applicant should have flexibility to facilitate didactic class discussions, preclinical simulation lab exercises by demonstrating proper hand skills to students, and oversee clinical treatment by dental students in the predoctoral clinic in general dentistry or their recognized specialty. Work assignments are determined by the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
