Job description

Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)

Phoenix, Arizona

Seeking a Certified Nurse-Midwife to join a collaborative OB/GYN practice of MDs, CNMs & APPs in the Phoenix metro area. We practice in a teaching hospital, providing care to a predominately underserved, culturally-diverse population. Full time.

Applicant will work both in a clinic and hospital setting.

Good Interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic are needed. Prior experiences in cross-cultural care, and community service are preferred. Spanish speaking a plus.

We provide holistic and culturally-grounded services to serve women in a professional, culturally, and linguistically-appropriate manner, while seeking to reduce/eliminate health disparities and cultural barriers to care. Joining our team would give you an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of a vulnerable population.

This position requires the following:

  • Passion for providing care for diverse vulnerable populations

  • Providing Prenatal Care for routine and high risk women

  • Triaging pregnant patients presenting to the hospital for a variety of complaints (16-40+ weeks)

  • Interpreting Antepartum Testing results and making management decisions regarding care of high risk women (in consultation with MFM)

  • Educating and Managing women with Diabetes in pregnancy

  • Rounding on low risk Postpartum patients

  • Working as part of an Integrated Team of physicians and midwives in a high risk medical-model setting

  • Supervising and Educating Residents

  • Providing Preventive Health Services

  • Counseling patients on all contraceptive options

  • Inserting IUDs and Contraceptive Implants

The position would include employment through District Medical Group Inc. ("DMG") a 400+ physician multi-specialty group working within Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS).
