Position Summary
The custodial staff member is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment at the assigned location, ensuring the well-being of students, faculty, CNM staff, and community members. The role primarily involves performing routine custodial tasks to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards within the designated area.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, office suites, common spaces, lunch, and break areas; empty all trash and recycling containers; wash window sills, walls, doors, and furniture; clean whiteboards and trays; vacuum, sweep, and mop all hallways, walkways, and stairways.
• Perform maintenance duties including stripping, waxing, sealing, and buffing floors; spot clean and shampoo carpets.
• Respond to requests for special moving, clean-up, or set-up tasks as assigned by Lead Custodian or M&O Supervisor.
• Respond to emergency spill clean-up requests.
• Report repairs to Lead Custodian or M&O Supervisor.
• Perform other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
• Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED and previous experience preferred.
