Summary:
McCabe’s Mechanical Services is a custom stainless steel equipment manufacturing company serving the food industry. Candidates will set-up, edit and operate machining equipment to ensure product is manufactured to customer requirements. 4 years of practical machining experience is preferred. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret prints, and the ability to correctly measure and check the quality of the parts in process and before the next operation. Ability to design, develop and document needed fixtures and tools for production, ability to read and understand the process flow identified on the job traveler.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
The machinist will be responsible for manufacturing parts on CNC lathes and mills.
  • Proficiently and safely operate machines to produce quality parts.
  • Setup CNC machines using Esprit CAM, with verbal or written instruction under minimal supervision.
  • Utilize common machinist tools to measure/inspect parts (i.e., micrometer, calipers, and indicators).
  • Read and fully understand blueprints to determine dimensional and finish tolerances on parts.
  • Properly complete required paperwork (work orders, timecards, etc.).
  • Proficiently meet time and schedule standards for assigned work.
  • Perform non-machining tasks when necessary and required.
  • Understand how to maintain offsets and tooling to achieve high-quality parts and effective tool usage.
  • Manage material inventory and work orders in your area.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Adhere to standard work schedule and promptly communicate when time off is required.
  • Perform daily and weekly maintenance and cleaning on equipment (i.e., filling lubricating oil, topping of coolant, general cleaning, and wiping down machine).
  • Measure and analyze production parts frequently to ensure quality.

Qualifications:
  • Required minimum of four years of machining experience or two years of machining technology education with two years of machining experience.
  • Experience with HAAS mills and lathes
  • Good comprehension of Conversational code and G-Code programming language (preferred).
  • Good understanding of speeds and feeds for tools used to cut stainless steel and plastics.
  • Excellent level of understanding of machines for drilling, grinding, and milling.
  • Exceptional communication skills and confidence in receiving feedback.
  • Self-motivation with the ambition to learn and grow from others.
  • Initiative to complete tasks independently, from start to finish.
  • An eye for detail, organizational and time management skills, strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Advanced math skills, ability to understand and use geometry and trigonometry.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for 8 hours a day.
