A day in the life
It’s the weekend, and you’re the craftsperson others rely on. You arrive, review the production plan, pull up the prints, and load the right tools and workholding. Your first setup goes smoothly—G-code is verified, offsets are dialed in, and the first article checks out within tolerance. Throughout the shift, you keep multiple CNC mills and lathes humming, inspecting parts against specs, logging results, and keeping a clean, safe cell. When a machine throws a curveball, you troubleshoot calmly, adjust, and get back to producing high-quality components.

- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and models to plan efficient machining strategies.
- Validate quality with precise measurements and in-process inspections to required tolerances.
- Maintain, diagnose, and resolve machine issues to sustain optimal run time.
- Document setups, production runs, and quality results with accurate records.
- Uphold safety procedures and a well-organized, 5S-oriented workspace.
