Job description

Position Summary
$25-$35/hr.
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Tool Crib Attendant to support our manufacturing operations. The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for maintaining an organized, accurate, and efficient tool crib while ensuring machinists and production personnel have timely access to the tooling, supplies, and equipment required to meet production schedules.
This position plays an important role in maintaining tool accountability, inventory accuracy, traceability, and production flow within our aerospace manufacturing environment.
Requirements
Essential Responsibilities
  • Issue and receive cutting tools, tooling, gauges, shop supplies, and other production-related equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of tools and materials issued, returned, transferred, or scrapped.
  • Maintain proper identification and traceability of tooling and inspection equipment.
  • Monitor tool inventory levels and identify items requiring replenishment.
  • Perform routine inventory counts and assist with cycle counting and annual physical inventories.
  • Organize and maintain the tool crib to ensure tools and supplies are easily accessible and properly stored.
  • Inspect returned tools for condition, cleanliness, damage, and completeness.
  • Separate worn, damaged, or questionable tooling and coordinate replacement or disposition as appropriate.
  • Prepare tooling and supplies for upcoming production jobs based on manufacturing requirements.
  • Assist machinists and manufacturing personnel in locating appropriate tooling and shop supplies.
  • Maintain accurate tool life, usage, and inventory information when required.
  • Work with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to resolve tooling and material issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow company procedures, safety requirements, and applicable aerospace quality requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a tool crib, machine shop, warehouse, manufacturing, or material control environment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of machining tools and manufacturing terminology preferred.
  • Familiarity with cutting tools, holders, inserts, drills, end mills, gauges, and related tooling is a plus.
  • Ability to accurately identify and track tools and materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with machinists, supervisors, and other members of the manufacturing team.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to safely lift and move tooling and supplies as required.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting CNC machining operations.
  • Experience in an aerospace, defense, precision machining, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with an ERP/MRP or tool management system.
