Summary:

Murphy Machine Products (MMP) is seeking a CNC Swiss Setup Technician for our Wood Dale, IL location. The CNC Swiss Setup Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and accurate production of precision parts. This position requires a strong

understanding of CNC Swiss machines, a commitment to quality, and exceptional troubleshooting skills.


The primary responsibility is to set up and operate CNC Swiss machines to produce high-quality parts that meet or exceed customer specifications. Compensation:

  • $24-35/hr based on experience.

Schedule:

Mon – Th 6:00am – 4:30pm

Fri 6:00am – 2:30pm

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Setup CNC Swiss following SMED processes: STAR SR20RII, SR20RIII, SR20J, SR32J, SR38 and CITIZEN M32
  • Troubleshoot machine and program issues.
  • Update work instructions to current tooling.
  • Produce and measure parts per blueprint following Quality Plans.
  • Work with operators when handing off machine
  • Ensure a safe work environment is maintained, appropriate safety systems/processes are utilized, and ensure compliance with all OSHA and other state/federal safety and environmental related rules and regulations.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, Skills:

  • Proven experience in CNC Swiss machine setup and operation.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine controls.
  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments and quality control techniques.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to program CNC Swiss machines using CAM software (Part Maker).
  • Able to operate a manual CMM.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
