CNC Programmer

Pay:~$29/hour
Shift: 1st Shift, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM or 2nd Shift, 4:30 PM-1:00 AM
Location: Claremore, OK

Professional Summary of CNC Programmer

BlueWorx Staffing is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to join a precision manufacturing operation in Claremore, OK. This individual will develop, optimize, and validate CNC programs used to manufacture precision components for aerospace, defense, space, automotive, and energy applications. The CNC Programmer will translate engineering drawings and 3D models into efficient machining processes while working closely with machinists, Engineering, Production, and Quality to ensure parts are produced accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities of CNC Programmer
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs using Esprit, Edgecam, and Catia.
  • Import and translate 3D CAD models into CAM toolpaths.
  • Select appropriate cutting strategies, feeds, speeds, and tooling for machining operations.
  • Design and program tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions.
  • Generate and verify post-processed G-code and M-code.
  • Program CNC lathes, mills, and 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers.
  • Optimize toolpaths and machining sequences to reduce cycle times, minimize tool wear, and eliminate scrap.
  • Work directly with machinists to set up CNC equipment and validate first-article programs.
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, and machine-performance issues on the shop floor.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, GD&T callouts, technical documentation, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with Quality on first-article inspections and part verification.
  • Support Engineering with tooling design, fixture design, and process documentation.
  • Work with Engineering, Production, and Quality to resolve manufacturability issues and meet production goals.
  • Support continuous-improvement initiatives focused on throughput, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications of CNC Programmer
  • Diploma or certification in CNC Programming, Machining, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Multi-axis mill and lathe programming experience.
  • Strong understanding of post processors and G-code/M-code.
  • Experience working within an AS9100 or ISO 9001 certified quality system.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, tooling, and multi-axis operations.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Ability to read manufacturing documentation, including routers, work instructions, and BOMs.
  • Ability to apply geometry and trigonometry to programming and setup calculations.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience CNC Programmer:
  • Aerospace or defense machining experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Esprit, Edgecam, and Catia.
  • Experience with Mastercam, SolidWorks, or NX is a plus.
  • Experience programming 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering is a plus.
