Job description

Position Summary:

Set-up, operate, and maintain the set-up of conventional and CNC Mill and Lathe machines. Organize work to support the manufacturing process and meet internal and external delivery schedules. Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools per set up and tooling instructions


Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform set-up, operation and inspection of hardware with minimal assistance on CNC machining in assigned area to product parts in accordance with blueprints, MOT’s, routings, SOP’s and other supporting documentation and procedures.
  • Perform necessary functions to locate and execute established CNC programs.
  • Set up and operate appropriate machine to produce parts in accordance with blueprints, MOT’s routing, SOP’s and other supporting documentation and procedures.
  • Perform to established productivity standards and sustain a level of quality for parts produced which is acceptable by department management.
  • Prepare and verify material to be used in production
  • Identify and process parts to meet manufacturing schedules to support customer deliveries
  • Inspect parts to process specifications.
  • Ensure that machinery, equipment and facilities are maintained for efficient production
  • Verify drawings, MOT’s and routings to ensure manufacture of hardware in accordance with good machining practices
  • Perform de-burr, conventional machining operations and rework


Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Must be able to determine machine tool and CNC program errors
  • Must be able to understand and interpret geometric tolerance.
  • Understand material characteristics and fundamentals of cutting tools
  • Use of optical comparator, gauge blocks and other standard inspection measuring instruments is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret process sheets.
  • Ability to inspect parts to process specifications.
  • Ability to set-up, operate, and maintain set-ups of assigned group of machines to meet all process specifications with minimum assistance.
  • Ability to prove out CNC programs with minimum assistance.
  • Ability to maintain an acceptable quality and efficiency level.
  • Must have at least 3-4 years of practical experience
