JOB SUMMARY

The CNC Operator is responsible for converting files, adding tooling programs, and nesting parts to achieve best possible sheet utilization in the Fabrication Department. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Converts part files to Laser and Punch files. 
  • Evaluate all designs to ensure reduction in manufacturing and costs. Utilize all raw materials for various applications; primarily by nesting parts to achieve best possible sheet utilization.  
  • Analyze, select, and add tooling program files to cut parts to print. 
  • Monitor all CNC programs and ensure accuracy of all instructions through comparison with original blueprints and design program network to increase efficiency of all programs.  
  • Prepare and verify all technical documents for CNC programs. 
  • Provide all required tooling information and reduce cycle time for all programs and manage communication with all engineers and plant personnel. 
  • Demonstrate full commitment to all produced CNC programs and maintain compliance with established quality standards/requirements. 
  • Identify all instruction errors and assist to resolve issues. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings and specifications.
  • Must be detail oriented, with the ability to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks/projects.
  • Ability to tolerate interruptions, adhere to strict timelines, and manage time effectively.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in metal fabrication or related work preferred.
  • Computer Aided Drafting entry level draftsman experience required.
