Job Title: CNC Machinist II

Pay Rate: $25 to $32.00

Duration: Sep 21, 2026 to Sep 21, 2027 (366 Days) (12 months)

Description:

Knowledge & Skill Expectations (Machinist II Level) A Machinist II is expected to:

Confidently run established jobs with minimal supervision Perform routine tool changes and offset adjustments within defined limits Understand part orientation, datum structure, and basic GD&T concepts Recognize when a process is drifting out of control and escalate appropriately Use inspection results to maintain consistency, but not redesign processes independently A Machinist II is not yet expected to:

Develop or significantly modify CNC programs Perform complex or independent machine setups Diagnose advanced machining or process capability issues Own process optimization or cycle-time reduction initiatives Training & Development Path The Machinist II is typically in a developmental stage, building toward Machinist III capabilities. Training focus should include:

Deeper understanding of machine setup fundamentals Exposure to 4-axis machining concepts and rotary positioning Introduction to CNC program structure and safe editing practices Increased involvement in first-piece and setup verification Learning how CMM data and SPC trends relate to machining decisions Progression to Machinist III is expected as the individual demonstrates:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

2-4 years of CNC machining or CNC operator experience, preferably in a die cast or high-volume manufacturing environment Experience operating CNC machines (3-axis; exposure to 4-axis a plus) Ability to read basic blueprints and understand dimensional requirements Familiarity with common measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) Basic understanding of tooling, inserts, and machining processes Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
