Brooks Instrument (www.brooksinstrument.com), an industry leader in flow and pressure instrumentation for critical applications, is seeking candidates for a Equipment Maintenance Technician reporting to the Production Manager position that will be based at our manufacturing location in Corona, California. Along with this location, the company has their headquarters based in Hatfield, Pennsylvania (suburban Philadelphia) and has manufacturing locations in Hungary, Malaysia, and Korea. The company also maintains sales and service offices throughout the world. Basic Function

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to troubleshoot and maintain production CNC machines and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

*Marginal position functions that are not included among the essential duties and responsibilities in this position description are also requirements of this position.

  • Perform highly diversified duties to maintain production CNC machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled troubleshooting of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform repair mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production CNC machines, secondary processing equipment and ACS.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Collaborate with OEM service technicians/outside contractors and ensure safety regulations and protocols are enforced.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities, ranging from simple to complex.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance issues.
  • Create work orders on repairs and services providing legible and accurate information for work performed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs and inspections.
  • Replaces all safety guards and/or other devices upon completion of all repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and protocols in all maintenance activities.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new technologies and maintenance techniques including but not limited to LOTO and Electrical Safety.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus;
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience preferred; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and/or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. However, in some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
