Position Overview

We are seeking a highly capable CNC Programmer / Process Engineer with a minimum of three years of experience programming Swiss-style lathes. This role is responsible for programming, optimizing machining processes, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring production efficiency.

Our Grand Rapids facility operates with Esprit CAD/CAM software and features:

  • (1) Citizen L20 Type 8
  • (3) Citizen L20 Type 10s
  • (2) Citizen L32 Type 12s
  • (1) Nakamura-Tome JX200

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for continuous improvement, working proactively to refine and enhance machining processes to maximize productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program and set up Swiss CNC lathes using Esprit software.
  • Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, cycle times, and quality.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and increase operational effectiveness.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
  • Select tooling, speeds, and feeds for complex components.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues to minimize downtime.
  • Train and support machine operators, increasing their competency and knowledge to improve overall team effectiveness.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to operators when needed, ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure compliance with aerospace and medical industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience programming Swiss CNC lathes.
  • Proficiency in Esprit CAD/CAM software.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining principles.
  • Experience with aerospace and medical manufacturing requirements.
  • A problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset and team-first attitude.
