CNC Press Brake Operator / Metal Bending Specialist

1st shift

Job Summary

Seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator/Metal Bending Specialist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal according to precise engineering blueprints and customer specifications.

This metal is used in siding for residential and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter product specifications into the machine per the customer job/request.
  • Operate CNC-controlled press brake machines to bend sheet metal into precise configurations.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work orders to determine the correct bending sequences and dimensions.
  • Measure formed parts using precision instruments (e.g., calipers, tape measure, etc.) to verify they meet strict tolerances.
  • Safely lift and position sheet metal onto the machine bed.
  • Perform routine basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance, and troubleshoot minor machine errors.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Preferred 1-3 years of hands-on experience setting up and operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read complex blueprints.
  • Solid mathematical skills to calculate bend allowances and angles & stretch.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.).
