Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Press Brake Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC-controlled press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that all fabricated components meet strict quality standards and specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery, contribute to high-quality production, and support the fabrication of complex metal parts used across various industries.

Duties

  • Set up and operate CNC press brake machines, ensuring accurate bending of sheet metal according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Program CNC press brakes using CAD/CAM software or manual input to achieve precise angles and dimensions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to determine proper tooling and machine settings.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on press brake equipment to maintain optimal performance.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality.
  • Select appropriate tooling and tooling adjustments for different projects, ensuring safety standards are followed during operation.
  • Collaborate with fabrication teams on assembly processes, sheet metal handling, and quality inspections to meet production deadlines.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment as needed for loading raw materials or moving finished parts within the facility.

Experience

  • Proven experience operating CNC press brake machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming, setup procedures, and tooling selection.
  • Familiarity with other machining processes such as CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, electrical discharge machining (EDM), stamping presses, or welding is a plus.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to sheet metal fabrication, tooling maintenance, and machine troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read complex blueprints and interpret GD&T specifications accurately.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
  • Experience with quality inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures involving hand tools, fabrication equipment, cranes, forklifts, and other machinery used in manufacturing environments.
