Job description

SMT Operator I

We are seeking a detail-oriented SMT Operator to set up and operate SMT equipment, ensure accurate component placement and soldering, and maintain high-quality production standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens.
  • Load feeders and verify components, part numbers, programs, and reflow profiles.
  • Perform screen printing and inspect/clean boards according to process requirements.
  • Follow ESD, MSD, IPC-A-610, and internal quality standards.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on SMT equipment.
  • Follow work instructions, process sheets, and build documentation.
  • Support 6S and ISO/quality initiatives.
  • Identify and communicate equipment or process issues.


Qualifications

  • 6–12 months of SMT assembly experience required.
  • Strong soldering skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with SMT equipment and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Knowledge of ESD and MSD handling procedures.
  • IPC certification (Modules 1, 2, 4, 7 & 8) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read work instructions and part lists.
  • Good manual dexterity and basic computer skills.
  • ERP experience (e.g., Epicor) a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.


Shift & Pay

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
  • 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM–2:00 AM, Monday–Thursday
  • Pay: $20.00–$22.00/hour
