Do you enjoy working with your hands?  Do you take pride in “making stuff”?  Do you want to be challenged in your work, be part of a team that makes a difference, and feel valued as an employee?  If so, then consider joining our team!

Successful machine shop seeking CNC Machinists and CNC Machine Operators to run milling machines and/or lathes for first and second shifts.  CNC Machinist candidates should have considerable machining experience and the ability to set up and run jobs independently (after being trained on shop-specific jobs and equipment).  CNC Machine Operator candidates should have general machining knowledge, at least a year of experience.

Responsibilities:

For CNC Machine Operators:

  • The ability to run machines and assist with other shop responsibilities (tumbling, assembling, etc.), as well as an interest in learning more about the trade.

For CNC Machinists:

  • Independently operate and monitor machines (vertical milling, horizontal milling and multi-task lathes) during operations with minimal to no supervision (Mazak equipment)
  • Interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications of parts

  • Inspect work with measuring equipment to ensure parts meet close tolerances

  • Program (Mazak) CNC machines (including creating, proving and editing programs; creating macros as necessary)

  • Adjust machines, controls, tooling and programming as necessary to ensure quality of production

Qualifications:

For CNC Machine Operators, a minimum of one year of experience.

For CNC Machinists, a minimum of five years of experience programming CNC machines (milling, horizontal milling and multi-tasking lathes – Mazak machines a plus), and the following:

  • Ability to use precise measuring and inspection equipment to hold close tolerances
  • Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other machine accessories
  • Understanding of machining principles, metal properties, and speeds and feeds
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings

Physical Requirements:
