5-Axis CNC Operator

Eleven Recruiting is looking to hire a 5-Axis CNC Operator for a leading Aerospace Manufacturing company sitting onsite in El Monte, CA. As a 1st Shift - 5-Axis CNC Operator, you will play a pivotal role in our aerospace manufacturing operations, focusing on precision machining of sheet metal components for mission-critical systems. The 5-Axis CNC Operator collaborates closely with engineers and other team members to optimize workflow and achieve production goals. Our client is a leading manufacturer of precision machined and formed isogrid and orthogrid skin panels, specializes in flight structures and assemblies for mission-critical systems in space and defense. Additionally, they excel in High-Speed Machining, Brake Forming, Certified Welding, Assembly, Laser Tracking, and Heat-Aging, providing a comprehensive range of capabilities essential for aerospace and defense applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate 5-axis CNC machines to execute machining operations according to production schedules and specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Understand and utilize CNC machine program M codes and G codes to execute machining operations accurately.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Review setup sheets and specifications to determine setup procedures, machining sequences, and dimensions of finished workpieces.
  • Retrieve and load CNC programs into the machine control system, ensuring correct program selection and execution.
  • Make tooling changes and adjustments to machining parameters during the production process as needed.
  • Measure and inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge in CNC machining operations.

Requirements:

  • 1st shift only – 5am to 5pm AND 8hr Saturday shift.
  • 3+ years of experience operating 5-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications by ASME Y14.5 Geometric Tolerances.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machine program M codes and G codes, as well as experience with CNC programming software.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments to inspect machined parts for quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with CNC machine setup procedures, including workpiece alignment, tooling setup, and fixture installation.
  • Experience with materials commonly used in CNC machining, such as metals, plastics, and composites.
