Job description

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under moderate supervision, operates a variety of machines such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, or special purpose equipment to machine metal work pieces to specification on a production basis.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  1. Performs a variety of tasks on a variety of machines.
  2. Works from engineering drawings or rough sketches.
  3. Sets up own machining work.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned by leader or supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A thorough knowledge of machining techniques, materials, tools, equipment, and blueprint reading is required. Ability to read precision measuring tools is also required. Skills may be gained through practical experience and/or specialized training. Prior CNC or Manual Machine experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequent bending, twisting and/or lifting approximately 55 pounds (and periodically heavier loads approximately 75 pounds) will be required.
