Custom Tool & Machine is looking for a dependable CNC operator who wants to build a career in Swiss machining without being expected to walk in as a fully experienced setup machinist or programmer.

You’ll operate established jobs, inspect precision-machined parts and make basic tool-wear adjustments with training and support available when needed. If you already have direct Swiss CNC experience—especially with Citizen machines—you’ll be considered toward the upper end of the pay range. Candidates coming from a general CNC lathe background may also be considered if they’re ready to learn.

This is a first-shift opportunity with flexible starting hours, weekly pay and a clear path toward more advanced Swiss setup, programming or leadership responsibilities.

⚙️ What you'll be doing

  • Operate Swiss CNC lathes using established setups and work instructions
  • Load bar stock and monitor the machine and bar feeder during production
  • Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers and applicable gages
  • Make basic tool-wear offset adjustments to maintain part dimensions
  • Change inserts and tools as instructed
  • Monitor tool condition, surface finish, chip control and coolant flow
  • Recognize machining or quality problems and ask for assistance when needed
  • Record inspection results and production information accurately
  • Communicate machine issues and important information to supervisors and other operators
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area
