We are excited to be adding a CNC Operator to the MAC Trailer Team. Our CNC Operator uses computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions. Your job is important since some materials are not easy to shape or handle manually or with conventional equipment. CNC Operators are highly skilled professionals, able to work with great concentration and precision. The goal is to produce high quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform

Hours: Monday - Friday 5am - 1:30pm

        What you will do:  

        • Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
        • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
        • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
        • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
        • Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
        • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
        • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
        • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
        • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
        • Communicate issues of concern and any other pertinent information which effect the productive completion of quality product, schedule of product and safety to Supervisor(s)
        • Clean keep organized the area in which you work during and at the end of the shift.
        • Organize and restock needed parts and materials.
        • Assist other employees, as needed and instructed.
        • Perform all related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s)

          • Ability to comprehend and interpret detailed drawings and measurements

          • Oral comprehension and expression skills to listen to and understand information and ideas presented verbally and then effectively communicate the information and ideas verbally
          • Basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM Software
          • Basic knowledge of CNC G-Code/M-Mode Programs
          • Basic knowledge of tool changes and tool setup
          • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
          • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
          • Good communication abilities

          Education and/or Experience

          • Experience in tractor trailer building or knowledge is preferred.
          • Experience in manufacturing related field is preferred.
          • Mechanical experience is preferred.
          • Proven experience as CNC operator
          • Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
          • High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus

            Physical Demands

            • Ability to lift 50 pounds
            • Ability to physically inspect own work and perform work in various positions
            • Ability to push, pull, and lift various materials including aluminum, steel, and parts
            • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

            Position Tiers and pay range:

            • Tier I - $22.25-$24.00
            • Tier II - $23.25 - $26.00
            • Tier III - $25.75 - $32.00
            • Tier 1: Employees in this tier are new to the position. Employee is under direct supervision as they learn the skills and duties of the position.
            • Tier 2: Employees in this position have developed the skills required to perform the job. There is supervisor involvement checking completed work for quality.
            • Tier 3: Employees in this position have mastered the skills required to perform the job. The individual does not need direct supervision and may be responsible for training and/or assisting newer employees in the department.
