Job description

The Joiner Machine Operator will serve our Water Heater Division, located in Montgomery, ALย 

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude. Ability to; add, subtract, divide, and multiply whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Use and application of measurement instruments, including ruler, scale, and tape.
  • Experience or training in the interpretation of blueprints and/or manufacturing drawings.
  • Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs.
  • Frequent strain due to position and unsupported lifting.
  • Strain due to repetitive motions.
  • Will be required to ensure proper operation of a forming press that joins the arrestor plate and damper pan to the skirt.
  • Will be required to use measuring devices and record fractional and decimal equivalents.
  • As assigned, required to discern out of tolerance conditions using fractional and decimal equivalents.
  • Will be required to manually load parts and unload assembled chambers.
  • Required to operate a portable tilter to move bins of parts into position.
  • Will be required to perform changeovers and make minor adjustments to equipment as needed.
  • Will be required to make minor repairs and assist maintenance with major repairs to equipment.
  • As assigned, may be required to perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Will be required to maintain quality standards established for the process.
  • Must be able to work from written or verbal instructions.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
  • Must observe all departmental safety requirements.
  • May be exposed to high noise levels, fumes and airborne particles
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
