Job description

Description:

PCT Ebeam and Integration in Davenport, IA is seeking an experienced CNC Operator for our first shift position, working 4-ten hour days. The CNC Operator performs all setup and operation of Haas Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment to machine parts of various sizes, geometry, materials and tolerance requirements. This position also debugs, edits, and optimizes CNC programs as necessary. This position is responsible for checking quality by ensuring machined parts are made per drawings and are within required tolerances. Specific duties include:

1. Performs all required setups of Haas CNCโ€™s including placement and securing of fixtures, cutting tools,

attachments, accessories and guards.

2. Operates Haas CNCโ€™s to produce a wide variety of production parts.

3. Works with Engineering to debug programs for first runs of new production parts or custom parts.

4. Edits and optimizes programs for production parts following initial debug and testing.

5. At times may write CNC programs for and produce simple fixtures and custom non-production parts.

6. Proficiently uses a wide variety of inspection equipment such as rulers, calipers, micrometers, gauges,

CMM inspection tool.

7. Responsible to thoroughly inspect parts produced on CNC machining centers.

8. Performs diagnostics on scrap or out of tolerance parts to identify root cause and corrective action. Works

with Production Manager and/or Engineering to implement necessary corrections.

9. Inspects incoming parts from outsourced fabrication and machine shops to ensure parts are made correctly

per the drawings and are within required tolerances.

10. Files and stores inspection reports and drawings for future reference.

11. Communicates and works with Production Manager and Engineering to understand accept or reject criteria

for fabrications and parts.

12. Follows all clean up and housekeeping procedures

13. Follows manufacturerโ€™s recommendations for proper maintenance, cleaning, inspection and minor repairs

of CNC equipment

14. Responsible to organize and maintain an efficient and clean work environment in the machining area.

15. Stores and catalogs all machining fixtures and tooling in a logical manner to allow for fast retrieval and

avoiding loss of parts.

16. Works with Production Manager and Supply Chain to maintain proper inventory level of cutting tools, fluids,

etc.

17. Proceeds with minimal supervision and direction.

18. Complies with all OSHA, EPA and company safety and sanitation regulations.

Requirements:

Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma. Must be able to read and interpret mechanical assembly and fabrication blueprints, including dimensioning and tolerances. Must be familiar with and have experience with quality inspection techniques and tools. Ability to use email and Microsoft Office applications including MSWord and MSExcel. Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and circumference. Ability to apply concepts of algebra, trigonometry and geometry. Ability to read and understand both standard and metric measurement systems. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as maintenance instructions.
