Position Summary

At Transpak, we take pride in striking the perfect balance between hardware and software. We believe in getting any job done efficiently through the innovation of computer numerical control. And we’re seeking highly skilled CNC operators for the same. The CNC operator’s work involves processing materials through acts such as milling, drilling and bending. By translating the company’s vision into tangible metal equipment, the CNC operator must be an analytical individual who has a strong attention to detail. By knowing the machines inside out, the ideal candidate must be in tune with the equipment and ensure optimal workflow out of them.

Objectives

  • Create wooden or metal parts or components as per the design blueprint
  • Know the ins and outs of the CNC operating system to make work effortless
  • Have strong software skills to execute the CNC programmer work preferably “V-Carve”
  • Ensure safe operations by complying with safety rules and regulations
  • Work on the complete lifecycle of the CNC operator work, from design and set up to production

Responsibilities

  • Change collets, tool inserts, tool blocks and tool holders
  • Process all necessary adjustments to machines. (Including Offset Wear & Geometry)
  • Perform basic level maintenance on machines as directed
  • Set-up, operate and maintain 1 or more CNC machines.
  • Good familiarity with computer programming and CAD/CAM – preferred
  • Ability to adjust programs at the control if needed.
  • Maintain the computer numerical control machine on a day-to-day basis and ensure that it is running smoothly
  • Lead and execute test runs, as a CNC machine worker
  • Inspect the finished products and ensure that they are on par with the blueprint
  • Keep a record of the machine’s actions
  • Plan stock inventory and spearhead the process of ordering and acquiring parts
  • Turn instructions into computer commands that lead to action

Required skills and qualifications

  • High school diploma or an equivalent
  • Prior experience working as a CNC operator
  • Outstanding analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Skillset to interpret design blueprints which are usually 3D drawings
  • Knowledge of mathematics and mechanics
  • Software and computer skills
