Job Title: CNC Technician
Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Department: Tooling
Reports To: Tooling Supervisor
Position: Nights
Position Summary:
Produce and repair forging dies by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Setting up CNC mills by installing tools, fixturing, setting work offsets, etc....
  • Maintains specifications by observing cutting, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming CNC machines.
  • Utilizing overhead cranes for loading workpieces into CNC machines.
  • Documents actions and verifies process adherence by completing process documentation.
  • Maintain sanctity of the workspace through the enforcement of 5s principles.
  • Maintains safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements (PM), troubleshooting minor maintenance issues, and calling for repairs.
  • Accomplishes departmental goals by taking ownership of the machining process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • G code programming.
  • CNC operation.

Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree in Machining or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Previous CNC experience (operation/programming).
  • 3-5 years' experience in machining or manufacturing preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk 12 hrs. per day.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in hot/cold environments.
