Job Description

The Maintenance Technician performs advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on industrial machine shop equipment in a modern, clean manufacturing facility. This role focuses on reactive maintenance with a strong emphasis on 220V/480V three-phase electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and machine shop equipment, including CNC machines. The technician works independently, supports reliable production operations, and ensures equipment runs safely and efficiently through effective diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on industrial machine shop equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and other production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot 220V and 480V three-phase electrical systems, identifying and resolving faults safely and efficiently.
  • Diagnose and repair 24V control systems, sensors, switches, and wiring issues to restore proper machine functionality.
  • Troubleshoot CNC machines, including controls, drives, motors, and communication faults, to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct mechanical repairs and adjustments on a variety of machine shop equipment to maintain optimal performance.
  • Perform hydraulic system troubleshooting and repairs, including identification of leaks, pressure issues, and component failures.
  • Read, interpret, and modify electrical schematics and panel wiring to support accurate diagnostics and repair activities.
  • Trace and diagnose issues within PLC-controlled systems by following input/output logic (no programming required).
  • Perform welding and basic fabrication as needed to support equipment repairs and modifications (when applicable).
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all production equipment, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all repairs, preventive maintenance activities, and parts usage in accordance with company standards.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Support machine shop maintenance activities and assist with CNC maintenance when needed.
  • Assist with plumbing and general building maintenance tasks as required to support facility operations.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve equipment issues and support continuous improvement of maintenance practices.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5+ years of true industrial maintenance experience
  • Proven experience in reactive maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • 220V and 480V three-phase electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical troubleshooting, wiring, and industrial maintenance practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair machine shop equipment, including production machinery.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic system troubleshooting and repairs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
