About the Opportunity

Lang Recruiting is partnering with a growing manufacturing company in Grand Rapids, MI to identify an experienced Maintenance Technician to support their production operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring CNC machinery and facility systems operate safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have strong CNC maintenance experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC mills as the primary focus.
  • Support maintenance needs for lathes and other production equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on CNC machines and shop equipment.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production support requests.
  • Maintain coolant systems, air compressors, and other shop utilities.
  • Assist with machine installations, relocations, and equipment upgrades.
  • Perform general facility maintenance including lighting, minor plumbing, and basic repairs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation.
  • Assist with managing spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to increase equipment uptime and reliability.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Strong CNC mill maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot machine controls.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a production-focused environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Skills

  • PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with FANUC, Siemens, or Haas controls.
  • Welding or light fabrication experience.
