Position Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Experimental Machinist 3 (Senior) to support advanced aerospace, defense, and research programs at its Logan, Utah facility. This role involves precision machining, fabrication, assembly, and testing of prototype and developmental hardware used in missile defense systems, infrared imaging systems, cryogenic positioning equipment, optical systems, and space/environmental test chambers.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive CNC and manual machining experience, strong GD&T knowledge, Mastercam programming expertise, and the ability to manufacture complex one-off and prototype components to extremely tight tolerances.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of machine shop experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of CNC machining experience.
  • Experience operating and programming 3-Axis CNC machines.
  • Experience with 4-Axis and 5-Axis CNC machining preferred.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
    • Blueprint reading
    • Engineering drawings
    • Assembly drawings
    • Technical specifications
  • Experience performing advanced shop mathematics involving:
    • Tolerances
    • Dimensions
    • Feeds and speeds
