CNC Machinist


Job Summary


Experienced CNC Machinist responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to produce precision parts according to blueprints, specifications, and quality standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of machining processes, and the ability to make machine and tooling adjustments to maintain part quality.


Responsibilities



  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

  • Install and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding devices.

  • Set tool offsets and make adjustments as needed during production.

  • Load programs and make basic CNC program edits when required.

  • Inspect finished and in-process parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.

  • Identify machining problems and troubleshoot issues involving tooling, dimensions, and machine operation.

  • Maintain production quality and meet established production schedules.

  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.

  • Follow company safety procedures and maintain proper use of PPE.

  • Document production, inspection results, and machine issues as required.


Qualifications



  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Experience with CNC machine setup and operation.

  • Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and tooling selection.

  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments.

  • Understanding of GD&T and machining tolerances.

  • Ability to troubleshoot machining and quality issues.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
