Job Opportunity: CNC Machine OperatorRoleThis position works within the Evers & Sons Caldwell Fabrication Shop and is responsible for the setup, operation, and monitoring of the PythonX CNC structural steel fabrication system. The CNC Machine Operator processes beams, channels, tubing, and other structural steel components in accordance with fabrication drawings, work orders, production requirements, and established quality standards. Set up, launch, operate, and monitor automated cutting cycles on the PythonX CNC structural steel fabrication system.Operate touchscreen HMI software, including systems such as VersaFab, to process structural steel components.Import and verify pre-nested CAD drawings, machine files, and work orders against physical material profiles prior to cutting.Read and interpret structural blueprints, fabrication drawings, shop drawings, cut lists, and production specifications.Verify material type, profile, dimensions, programs, and machine settings prior to processing.Load and position beams, channels, tubing, and other structural steel components for processing.Operate equipment to cut, cope, notch, drill, mark, bevel, and otherwise process structural steel components as required.Monitor machine operations and make appropriate adjustments to maintain production and quality requirements.Inspect completed components for dimensional accuracy and conformance with drawings, specifications, and fabrication tolerances.Measure bolt holes, copes, bevel angles, cut lengths, and other required dimensions using calipers, squares, tape measures, and other inspection tools.Identify and report machine, programming, material, drawing, or quality discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.Change worn plasma torch consumables and perform routine operator-level machine adjustments as needed.Perform basic calibration and inspection of height sensors and other operator-maintained machine components.Perform routine cleaning, inspections, and preventative maintenance in accordance with established procedures.Maintain a clean and organized work cell, including areas around CNC equipment and overhead crane operations.Properly identify, organize, and track materials and completed components.Coordinate with fabrication, welding, material handling, Quality Control, and production personnel to maintain workflow.Follow all company safety policies, procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and PPE requirements.Safely work around overhead cranes, material handling equipment, plasma cutting equipment, and other fabrication shop machinery.Meet production expectations while maintaining established safety and quality standards.Evers & Sons Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a background check investigation and drug screen.
