Job Summary:

The primary function of the CNC Machine Maintenance Mechanic is to ensure the maintenance and repair of facility equipment including process machinery and building infrastructure. The job will require requisition of repair and maintenance parts, scheduling and implementing maintenance work and repairs. The Maintenance Mechanic must be knowledgeable in operation, maintenance, and repair of CNC and general production machinery.



Essential Functions:

  • CNC Machine Maintenance and repair
  • Performs routine maintenance on machinery to ensure proper performance
  • Schedules machine cleaning and preventative maintenance
  • Updates production schedule with maintenance performed
  • Coordinates with outside repair vendors
  • Maintains and inventories repair parts
  • Ensures proper oil levels in machines
  • Repairs and corrects machine leaks
  • Troubleshoot production machines and facility equipment problems
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment
  • Suggest process improvements and equipment purchases
  • Must be able to perform the job with minimal supervision
  • Perform other assignments as required
  • Comply with and promote Company Quality and Safety Policies and Strategic Business Objectives
Requirements:

Qualifications:

Experience/Education/Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum 7 years of experience maintaining and repairing production machines and facility equipment
  • Knowledge of maintenance and repair of CNC turning centers with Fanuc Controllers
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Must have a complete knowledge of metrology equipment and their uses including micrometers, calipers, indicators, depth micrometers, gauge pins, thread gauges and optical comparators
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and electrical circuits
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)

Mathematical Skills:

  • Intermediate Math Skills (measuring, use of calculator)


Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to carry out detailed, involved written and verbal instructions

Physical Demands:

  • Must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • When performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger or handle or feel objects and tools or controls and talk or hear
  • Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms
  • Specific vision abilities require close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to handle several tasks at the same time under time constraints

Work Environment:

  • Machine Maintenance Mechanic will work throughout the Company and will be exposed to high pressure gas, heated and moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to vibration
  • Noise level is moderate for a manufacturing plant
