Job description

CNC Service Engineer- Preventive Maintenance contributes to the success of Hartwig by keeping our customers' CNC machine tools running at peak operating levels. The customers we serve are in a variety of industries and rely on the Hartwig team to repair and inspect their equipment to prevent expensive machine failures from occurring.

This position supports our Mountain Region. This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical maintenance experience who wants to learn about CNC machines.

Main responsibilities of this full-time role based in the Salt Lake City, UT area include:

  • Conducting efficient and timely preventive maintenance on CNC machine tools, including changing fluids, filters and checking accuracy of calibrations.
  • Recommending modifications and improvements to machines, equipment and processes.
  • Training and instructing customers on preventive maintenance best practices and Hartwig services.
  • Scheduling preventive maintenance customer visits
  • Conducting inventory counts.
  • Ability to complete necessary tasks in our service software and timecard system daily.
  • Traveling to customer sites, usually within 2 hours from home, with occasional overnight travel.

Individuals who ideally fit this role should meet the following qualifications:

  • Above average mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Relevant mechanical or preventive work experience, inspection and/or repair experience
  • Someone who doesn't mind getting dirty or working in hot/cold environments.
  • Good driving record and valid driver's license to ensure fleet vehicle insurability
