Job Summary:The CNC Milling Machinist performs detailed machine setups on 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC Milling Machines. Is highly skilled in Setup and Troubleshooting. Performs necessary inspection steps. Works with minimum supervision to make necessary adjustments and process improvements to create high quality products. Operates production of more complex products. Provides training and mentorship for less skilled machinists.Duties / Responsibilities:Performing machine setups quickly, accurately, and efficiently on all 3, 4, and 5 Axis milling equipmentLoading, proving out, and maintenance of CNC programs. Work with engineering to suggest improvements to CNC programs and fixturing as applicable.Operating machines to produce production runs of parts as needed including operating controls, setting offsets, and performing simple edits.Inspecting of parts for conformance to requirements of Process / Inspection sheets and customer drawings.Communicating with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to report machining, equipment or quality issues.Keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly. Perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.Maintaining lot control and quality standards through understanding of the Quality Management SystemMonitoring and documenting operational and performance issues and provide feedback to supervisor as requiredDevelop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and other staffWithin the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company AS9100 quality program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental regulationsOther duties as directed by supervisor.Required Skills / Abilities:Proficient knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to Micro-Height Gages, Micrometers, Calipers, Depth gages, Indicators, Dial Bore Gages.Strong skills inspecting and verifying finished products.G & M code fluency and ability to edit programsKnowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions.Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines.Must be able to follow written and oral instructionsStrong verbal communication and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and ability to deal with complexityCapable of working in a customer-focused, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitudeInterested in learning with, and from, peers, engineering, and programming team to improve operationsWilling to run multiple machines independently or in a team environment.CNC Turning experience a plusEducation and Experience:Minimum of 5 years CNC milling machine experience within an Aerospace machining, job shop environment.High School Diploma or GED.Technical/Vocational training welcome.Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift 25 pounds
