Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

This role focuses on setting up and operating CNC milling and turning machines to produce precision components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will ensure that all parts meet strict quality and specification standards while safely managing multiple machines and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines, including both horizontal and vertical configurations, to produce precision parts.
  • Operate CNC turning machines and lathes to manufacture components to specified tolerances.
  • Perform routine inspections of parts to ensure they meet quality, dimensional, and specification standards.
  • Make machine offsets and perform tool changes as needed to maintain production accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor machine performance during operation and adjust settings to optimize output and part quality.
  • Safely run and manage multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
  • Interpret and work from basic blueprints to understand part requirements and machining steps.
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and ensure precision.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make appropriate adjustments to programs, tooling, or machine settings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with safety protocols and company standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve technical issues.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC milling and turning operations, including horizontal and vertical mills.
  • Ability to independently perform machine setups, tool changes, and machine offsets.
  • Hands-on experience operating CNC milling machines, including vertical mills, horizontal mills, and 5-axis milling machines.
  • Hands-on experience operating CNC lathes and turning machines.
  • Proficiency using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part dimensions.
  • Basic blueprint reading skills to interpret part specifications and machining requirements.
  • Ability to multitask and manage several machines effectively in a production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Practical experience with CNC machining, CNC programming adjustments, and troubleshooting machine issues.
  • Ability to work safely with hand and power tools in a machining environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with controls and equipment such as Haas, Okuma, Mazak, and Fanuc-based machines.
  • Experience as a CNC setup operator or CNC milling machinist.
  • Familiarity with programming CNC machines and making minor program edits at the machine.
  • Experience working with 5-axis milling machines and multi-axis machining operations.
  • Comfort using a variety of shop tools, including hand and power tools, in daily machining tasks.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills in a production setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
