CNC Milling Machinist
Location: Riverdale, NJ
Pay Rate: $25-$35/hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Department: Production
Reports to: Production Manager
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machinist to set up, edit, and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts according to customer specifications, engineering drawings, and company procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong CNC setup experience and a solid understanding of precision machining, inspection, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate vertical CNC milling machines, including Haas, Kitamura, and DN Solutions.
Set up jobs using pre-written G-code programs, including indicating fixtures, loading and touching off tools, and entering tool offsets.
Edit G-code programs at the machine using Fanuc or Haas controls as needed.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, travelers, and work instructions.
Perform first-piece inspections to verify parts meet print specifications and tolerances.
Monitor in-process production and inspect completed work using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
Perform basic troubleshooting and make machine adjustments as needed.
Deburr parts and perform secondary operations as required.
Train CNC Operators on jobs and machine setups.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Communicate job status, production issues, and quality concerns to the Production Manager.
Ability to learn and operate CNC lathes as needed.and organized work environment.
3+ years of CNC machining experience, specifically with CNC milling setup and operation.
Strong CNC setup and programming knowledge, including G-code, Fanuc or Haas controls, tool offsets, fixture setup, and program editing at the machine.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions, including an understanding of X, Y, Z coordinates, geometry, tolerances, and machining processes.
Strong inspection and troubleshooting skills, including experience with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
