Employer & Industry UsageCommon in manufacturing, machine shops, and production facilitiesUsed in similar settings, often with more responsibility for program development

The main difference between a Cnc Coder and a Cnc Programmer lies in their scope of work. Cnc Coders primarily focus on writing and editing CNC code, while Cnc Programmers handle more complex programming tasks, including testing and optimizing programs for efficiency and accuracy. Job description

Company Description

We are hiring experienced, precision manufacturers specializing in Lathe, Mill, and multi-axis CNC turning, Swiss machining, and screw machining. The ideal machinist is experienced with setup and program adjustments to inspection and final part quality. If you enjoy taking ownership and understand why a part changes size, how to correct it, and can prove it with measurements, we encourage you to apply.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, run, and adjust CNC turning machines, Swiss automatics, and screw machines.
  • Edit CNC programs at the machine and make offset, tooling, and parameter changes as required.
  • Program and edit CNC code (G-code), and work with CAD/CAM software like Mastercam, Fusion 360, or Solid CAM.
  • Independently diagnose and correct dimensional, finish, or concentricity issues
  • Produce first-article-approved parts and maintain consistency throughout the production run.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T.
  • Apply shop math (fractions, decimals, geometry, basic trigonometry) to correct size and location issues.
  • Select the correct measuring tools and verify part accuracy at multiple stages of production.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and vision/CMM systems confidently.
  • Change tooling, adjust fixtures, and optimize cycle times and tool life.
  • Work closely with quality and engineering when process improvements are needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Machines You'll Work With: (Experience with some is expected)

  • CNC Lathes with live tooling, sub-spindles, and twin turrets (Miyano, Mori Seiki, Nakamura, Ganesh)
  • CNC Swiss automatics (Citizen L-Series, A-Series)
  • Multi-spindle & single-spindle screw machines (Wickman, Davenport, Brown & Sharpe)
  • CNC Milling machines (Haas, Kitamura, Fadal)
  • Advanced inspection equipment, including CMM and vision systems
Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience with tight-tolerance, high-precision components using live tooling, Y-axis, C-axis, sub-spindles, and twin-turret machines.
  • Understands Material capabilities: Aluminum alloys, Stainless steel, Carbon and alloy steels, Brass and copper alloys
  • Experience with plastics or specialty materials is a plus
  • 4+ years of hands-on CNC and multi-spindle screw machines experience
  • Ability to set up machines, not just operate them
  • Comfortable making size, offset, and tooling corrections without supervision
  • Strong blueprint reading and tolerance comprehension
  • Confident use of precision measuring tools (not just holding them)
  • Willingness to take ownership of part quality and machine performance
  • Formal schooling is not required if you have 6 years of real-world machining experience.
