Job description


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain CNC production machines and facility equipment according to OEM instruction and production needs.
  • Ability to operate a variety of CNC lathes, mills, and other CNC machinery as needed for machine repairs. Handwheel, MDI, and Auto operation.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, machine geometry alignments, spindle inspection/replacement, ball screw inspection, Bearing preload settings, High Pressure coolant system adjustments, and general component diagnosis and repair.
  • Perform electrical and electronical troubleshooting such as spindle/axis servo tuning, servo amplifier replacement and programing, single and three phase power supplies, low voltage control wiring, overload protection resetting, AC/DC motor inspection and troubleshooting.
  • Set up work with variety of vendors, contractors, and outside technicians, as well with other members of our internal Maintenance department

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong background with Fanuc controls, to include parameter changes, system back-ups, grid shifts, pitch error compensation, G and M codes, and the ability to read IO and search Ladder Logic as needed for diagnosis purposes.
  • Ability to read and understand machine maintenance manuals, operation manuals, Fanuc instruction manuals, and associated machine documentation. Paperback and digital
  • Understanding and use precision measuring equipment
  • Experience with vacuum pumps and systems is a desired skill
  • Knowledge of, and ability to comply with OSHA Safety and company rules.

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a technical apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of qualified maintenance experience.
  • 5-7 years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
