The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Assist professional nursing personnel in providing patient care. Performs direct care duties, including bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulating. Provide care to individuals with mental or emotional conditions or disabilities under the direction of nurses and physicians. They closely monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being and report to medical staff.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association only
  • Ability to perform all competencies of the position

Preferred:

  • Completion of a nursing fundamentals course in an accredited School of Nursing or Certified Nursing Assistant

Certifications and Licenses:

  • BLS certification through American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Nights 11:00PM - 7:30AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Part-Time (16 hrs)
  • Mandatory Orientation

Essential Functions:

  • Monitoring vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure
  • Perform EKG's
  • Draw labs and collect specimen from patients
  • Provide therapeutic groups and recreational activities to patients
  • Assist in nonviolent crisis intervention
  • Promotes and implements in conjunction with RN the concept of patient and family-centered care
  • Observes and reports patient's responses to intervention/treatments
  • Prepare the patient environment for admission or transfer from another area of hospital
  • Greet and escorts newly admitted patients and families to patient room and orients to surroundings
  • Assures that all patients have appropriate identification bands on at all times
  • Prepares patient for meals, assists in feeding and/or feeds patient and reports food intake to RN
